“Semiosis of Self: Visual Meaning Making in a Spanish for Native Speakers Class”

Tammy Frederick will present her research and work in which she examined how Spanish heritage language students developed multiliterate identities while they engaged in a multimodal curriculum as evidenced in their visual texts. The benefits and implications of using visual discourse analysis for analyzing students’ texts in future applied linguistics research will be discussed.
